  • Trackpad in armrest

Has anyone tried to embed a trackpad/glidepoint into an center armrest? It seems like a perfect place to have this pointing device, but I want it sunk in flush like a headrest monitor install.
    Any thoughts?

sonic: how functional is it? it's always seemed like a waste to me because of the degree of concentration it requires to operate that. doesn't seem very practical.

naaman did it in his 2007 tahoe.

Search the worklogs/completed installs section for it.

apparently it's pretty useable for him...but then again, he's in a tahoe, not a vette.

I find them easier to use than the touch screen to be honest. Very relaxed position and not a straight out arm bouncing around trying to hit a screen.

i'm assuming u are talkin about a track PAD and not a track ball.. i have a track pad and its as easy as using it on any laptop. Move your finger where u want the mouse to go and touch the pad to left click

Does anyone have any pics, or advice, on how to get the trackpad attached to the armrest? I have the courage to cut the fabric, and remove the foam. I've done a few headrest installs. I just don't know how I'm going to affix the trackpad to the molding of the armrest.
