Very cool, waiting for more details. Tether/3G? Volume control? Do you use Tasker? What this samba serve can do?

    Thanks for posting!

      Very good work.

I have a similar project in my Volvo XC60 with a Viewpad 7" tablet.
I used noblock app to skip blocking screen and tasker to automatize start & stop procedures.

Just a question: how do you start/stop the device? I think you can not access the on/off button

That's a nice install. Surely looks like it belongs in there. Nice work.

yes i use my android phone to tether 4g to the tablet. for volume control i have the tablet hooked into my amp and just use a volume widget on the home screen along with poweramp and its widget for the home screen. i havent tried tasker yet and the samba server allows the tablet to be a harddrive on my network so i can wirelessly add music and movies.

i leave the device on 24/7 and right now since i havent been driving the car it should be dead. i will just plugin the car charger and that will give it juice and it should turn on by itself. i also am using an app in the market called screen on which will make the screen stay on and not dim out. When i leave the car i use another app that will automatically shut the screen off when the tablet is not getting power. the app is called configure screen off ultilities.

i switched roms on the tablet to enable the voodoo control which really brings out the sound. i dont have it hardwired into anything all i have is the car charger and the only issue with that is when it is hot it wont charge lol but so far i havent had any issues. my other car has a car pc in it and i just had 2 15's put back in it so i mainly been driving that.

Please, confirm that Galaxy Tab starts automatically from stopped ststus when
            supply is plugged.
My Viewpad only starts from a low battery mode (screen off, no wifi, no gps, ...), but not from completly stopped.

If galaxy tab do this, i will probably get one

Ok after some testing when the battery goes dead and you plug the car charger in, it will not turn on it will just charge. i had to take the dash apart to turn it on but its not hard to do in my car.

what do you mean from stopped status? the galaxy tab has a nice battery it can last a while in standby. i use the screen config utilities app to set it so the screen turns off when i unplug the charger. when i plug the charger in the screen comes back on and everything is functional. i leave bluetooth, wifi, and gps on and after 4 days my tablet still had 65% battery so for now im just gonna plug it in to charge every 6-8 days so i dont have to undo my dash. another thing i do is when the tablet is fully charged i use the screen on app, and disable the screen config app. the screen on app keeps your display on and makes it so it doesn't dim down.

I can't find this app. Can you confirm the actual name of this app please? Thanks!

EDIT: Found it. It's called Screen Off Utils, by SUAING.
