Very nice work! That comes up tidy and clean, love it!

Whats the response on the OBD side of things, is it pretty smooth?

      Wow.

The JDM double din came factory with your EVO right? I can't seem to find one for my VIII.

        Thanks for the replies,

As far as OBD goes I am using a bluetooth ELM327 from amazon which isn't all that stable, but it was only $25usd. US Evo's dont have hi fidelity map sensors so my ability to log boost pressure is limited.

I have a USDM Evo that came with a single din slot. I ordered the 2din bezel from: www.japanparts.com, part number 180-042-001. It can be found here

awesome job, very clean looking. how did you wire up the power? did you just tie a cigarette lighter adapter into accessory power? or use a more permanant power supply, i was thinking about tying a power supply with a low voltage shutdown into constant 12v.

            I like this job.

How did you change status bar to black?

can someone explain to me how you get the sound out to your amp?
I currently have a regular Double Din stereo connecting to an 4 channel amp.
I've thought about doing this but I can't figure how to get a decent sound output from the tab to the amp.

                  thanks

I have personally used a Line convertor to RCA plug. They are generally available from places like Dick Smiths, or Tandys etc. Quite cost effective too!

BTW, great install - Ive never thought of putting a tablet into a car but then again, it has everything you need doesn't it!

Currently I am just using jack to rca. May not be optimal to audio junkies but I dont tell the difference cause my sound cranks loud and crisp. My preference is blutooth A2DP because I hate cables. I always had got compliments on my sound using the A2DP for years. It was still crisp and I never had issues with choppy, muffled or intermittent audio. I love my music and that solution worked just fine for me. I can't speak for others.
