  • Just got a Nexus 7 - What app's should I get?

I'n new to the world of Android, I'm going to be using this as my head unit in my car, what are some of the must have apps for in-car use? I will soon have a 4g host spot for internet access also.

Oh and please check out and comment in my Worklogs thread, Thanks.

Tasker is great. Take your time and set it up for you. There are some great tutorials if you need them. Works great with NFC tags. Does the Nexus 7 use NFC?

If you're going to be mounting it in landscape, you might want to try a custom launcher like Apex Launcher or Nova Launcher. The stock launcher is portrait only.

I wouldn't miss tasker and some time to write it's programs. Auto rotate to lock the screen on landscape. Ubermusic for music. TuneIn Radio, XiiaLive Radio, Drivers Widget, Car Home v2, Auto Bluetooth Connect, HD Widgets 3.0, Grooveshark, Svox Classic+language for GPS voice guidance on google maps, Realtime GPS Tracker, Bluetooth GPS Mouse to connect to external GPS (in case you're not modding the android internal GPS on the roof), PDF reader and car's manual PDF and that's what I remember to be worth installing in a fixed carputer in car running android
