  • Please post your tasker profiles...

    Hi,

I am in the process of an Galaxy tab 2 install in my Mazda Miata. I downloaded the tasker app but I am a bit overwhelmed by the gazillion things you can do...

Could you please be so kind and post your Car-Android profiles for tasker...

Or a follow up what tasker is doing when you turn the ignition on...?

    Thanks a lot!

    Sven from Germany

It would help if you said specifically what you'd like to do with Tasker. I have a ton of profiles on my GS3 but they may not pertain to a tablet install.

Well I would like to activate the tablet when I turn the ignition on, and deactivate when the ignotion is off. Go into landscape mode, maybe start the music player or something like this...

There are quite some videos in the worklogs/builds that show such a startup scenario...

I assume from this that you plan to wire the power for the tablet to the ignition? If so you need the following:

Profile using State trigger on Power -> Power -> Source Any

Task using action App -> Load App -> Your music player and if the player remembers the last track playing, another action in the task using Media -> Music Play.

Exit task using actions Media -> Music Stop and App -> Go Home

The screen rotation should be sorted automatically if you haven't locked the rotation. If you have locked it, then use action Display -> Display Rotation -> Set On to enable until your exit task.

The only downside is if you charge it elsewhere, this will all trigger.

Depends what you want to do. Some functions and plugins require root, but you can do a lot without.

Do you have to be rooted to make it shut down apps and then shut off the screen?

I created a profile called "CarPC" with two tasks "Startup" and "Shutdown". The profile is triggered by Power | Any

                      Startup
                      1. Display | Car Mode On | Go Home checked
                      2. Network | Wifi On
                      3. Network | Bluetooth On (I use this for Torque App to connect to bluetooth OBDII sensor)
                      4. Volume 90%
                      5. Media Control | Play

                      Shutdown (exit task for startup)
                      1. Media Control | Pause
                      2. Volume 10%
                      3. Network | Bluetooth Off
                      4. Network | Wifi Off
                      5. Display | Car Mode Off | Go Home Checked
