  • Rollover on lcd, how to fix?

I have a lcd monitor for the back seat and it's hooked up to an alpine 9860 dvd player and when i turn them on sometimes the monitor's image will act like it rolling over really fast and i have to turn off my car and turn it back on to fix it. other times when i'm driving down the road it will get a little one that last about 1 second. I was wondering if a video amp would fix this problem? or is it something to do with the screen or dvd player? Thanks, Drew

Does the entire image actually roll up so for instance at one time the top of the screen is like 1" from the bottom and rolls over that way, or is it more of a wave effect?

If it is a roll, then it sounds like the refresh rate is off. You could try that first...

it's more of a wave. it is just a lcd, not a vga

Then that is signal interferance. Either from a weak signal which an amp would fix or interference from a big power wire running too close to a unshielded cable type thing.

i was figuring that but would that be why when i turn the monitor and dvd player on it will do that right when it gets a signal from the dvd player? why doesn't it do it everytime?

I don't understand. Can you rephrase?

The monitor is set to auto one. When i give the monitor and dvd power sometimes it will display the picture perfectly but other times it will roll over and over until i disconnect the power (turn off car)
