  • Picked up an LinITx 8" monitor but what is this??

    i picked it up for a rather decent price, but on the harness that it comes with, there is a lose orange wire what is it

    You just told us that it's an orange wire!

    Seriously...
    Is there anything about it in the manual?

    Typically, an orange wire in car audio indicates an illumination wire that would control brightness of the backlight. I don't know if that's the case for your unit....
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?



    Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

      Perhaps a reverse input selector (for rearview cam)?

      You could try to connect it to ground and see what happens... worst case if it ain't should be a blown fuse...

        i can still adjust the brightness without it connected to anything, and no i dont have a manual

        idk if its the rear veiw input

          What dp means is the display would dim a bit when you turn on the headlights if that wire is connected to the headlight switch. Much like your stock car stereo would do.

              For clarification....
              I meant it might be... Without a manual, there is no way to be 100% certain.

              I know someone witha LinITX screen, methinks. I'll verify that and find out the purpose of the mysterious orange wire if they do, in fact, have a LinITX unit.
