  • Lilliput parts?

My touchscreen overlay just cracked on me and I haven't been able to find a source for a replacement touchscreen after a bit of looking. If it's in the FAQ thread I must have missed it...

the monitor itself is a 7" HR 701-NP model. If I could fins another overlay, not specifically the lilliput touchscreen overlay, I might could go for that (but I wasn't able to find it searching).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

These guys have touchscreens and controllers, but I don't have any experience with them yet.

      updating from a while back...

If you managed to be as careless as I was you can replace the screen with a 7" overlay for use with a EEE PC. The touchscreen controller is no longer attached to the Lilliput circuitry, but works great. It's only $40 shipped as well.

I can vouch that the Asus EeePC Touchscreen will fit and work correctly in a 619GL Lilli after a little fettling with a dremel
I had to grind two little notches into the glass on one side of the TS for the housing screw columns, I also ground the side of the screw columns flat, after that it fits a treat. I just cut a hole in the back of the housing for the extra TS cable to exit from.
You can apparently just plug the ASUS TS straight into the Lilli TS controller, but as I'd had problems for a while, I decided it best to eliminate all the Lilli TS Hardware.

Whilst re-opening to reposition the TS, I broke the clips on the VGA ribbon cable And ruined the ribbon cable with SuperGlue whilst trying to glue it in.

Screen is in a pile of bits now whilst I decide whether I can be arsed ordering spares and fixing it, or whether to splash out on a newer better screen. I've had this one since 2004! And Im tempted to rebuild a new bezel, hopefully finished a little neater than my current one. Lessons learned and all that...

What do you reckon? Fix! Or Splash Out... If so, on what?
