  • Lilliput 629 2007/2008 difference?

Hi all, I've been a long time lurker on this great site, & i've learned a great deal from all the threads i've read & now i want to begin my CarPc install. I have a BMW E36 & want to install the screen in the upper part of the dash as per Enforcer (Great job!) The store says that only 2007 model screen will fit the E36 Bezel. Does anyone know what the physical difference between the 2007 & 2008 models are? Any pics showing the two models would help too. I have on my trawling thru the net, found 629-GL 70NP & 629-GL 70NP/C/T, is one the 2007 model? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I think you'll have trouble locating an 07 Lilliput now, since they've stopped production. There are very subtle differences outside, the real difference is on the inside. The 08 is a great improvement. The LED backlight makes it much more proper for a CarPC monitor. The only reason I would think the 08 won't fit where the 07 does is that the display on the 08 isn't symmetrical. If you were to take it apart, it's got a large, non-viewable area on the right. This is due to the LED backlight.
