  • only Lilliput can fit double-din?

    Hi,

I've been researching for over a year and have finally started ordering parts. It seems that the LCD part is definitely the most confusing. After searching for LCD dimensions it seems to me that the Lilliput 629 or 701 can fit in a double-din (there're even double-din enclosures built for these screens) but Xenarc LCDs are just too big. Am I correct? I'd much rather install a Xenarc for the auto video switching feature since I'm going to install a backup camera but guess it's no luck. Anyway, just wanted to clarify before I make my purchase. Any suggestions/comments?

    Thanks in advance!

Xenarc fits double DIN just fine, here's a link to a thread with pictures of my Xenarc in my car.

No offense but it doesn't seem like you researched very hard.

      Hi Maheriano,

Thanks for your response. I did read that post you mentioned several times as well as tried to google for the dimensions of all the 7" LCD touchscreens. Although your posts does state that after trimming off most of the bezel it fit, I read the Xenarc sticky thread which shows that the LCD of the 700tsv is 171mm x 108mm which is taller than the double din opening my Metra kit allows. Furthermore, this post below by Archy88 shows that it's just too wide--hence my confusion.

I'm trying to find a 7" LCD, screen only, that would fit the Metra kit for my car while utilizing a double din enclosure (see BLK02si's thread in Fabrication) without modification or trimming, if possible.

      Thanks again.

Without modification? That's going to be tough but there is a thread here with the exact measurements of every piece of the Xenarc.
Why do you want to keep the bezel in one piece? Why not just buy an extra bezel and use it if you ever want to take the screen out?

Im finally going to make the jump and go from a single din flip out to a double din setup. I just bought an eby701 and a universal double din adapter:

Ive looked through a few member's installs with this monitor, and it seems to fit the double din opening snugly. Before buying this monitor, I actually cut a piece of paper with the exact dimensions of the screen and compared it to my car's dash. It seems to fit perfectly in the double din opening, but of course I cant say for sure until everything comes in. My plan is to fab the monitor into the double din adapter and just slide that into the dash.

Anyways, its just something you might want to consider...
