  • Kenwood VGA touchscreen DNX9140 - possible for carputer?

I did a search for teh new Kenwood DNX9140 on this forum but nothing came up, so I guess no one has asked this question.

Is it possible to somehow tap into this new Kenwood VGA touchscreen? This is a nicely equippped unit with Garmin GPS included.

    See links:

Not without cracking the unit open and reverse-engineering the touchscreen to work on a USB or serial connection.
      It's possible, but hardly practical.

This is a common question. That's why there's a FAQ about it: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/advf...ew&advfaqid=17

Understand that VGA resolution (640x480 minimum) does not mean there is a VGA (15-pin DSUB) input. This unit has simple A/V input, which means composite RCA video, which sucks for PC image quality.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?
