  • Disassembing Xenarc - Buttons?

    Hey there,

Im an old newbie - I put my carputer in my truck in 2003 and havent changed it since. So while Im very familiar with carputing, Im not so up to date on current carputer tech.

I just bought a 2001 Blazer and am planning a new screen. My 10.4" that im using now is just too big. I want a something smaller, thinking a 7"

The model I have my eye on is a Xenarc 700TSV.

Ive looked thru the build threads for people that use this screen and see that some people have theirs installed with no buttons visible. I'd like to do something similiar.

Now do they just disconnect the buttons entirely, or reroute them somewhere else?

    Any info would be appreciated!

Hey, I too am installing this same display in my vehicle. My modification is quite extreme as I am custom installing the LCD and touch panel into a new bezel I have machined out of aluminum. this mount will swivel up and down. I have chosen to mount the logic board (which contains the buttons, IR, and power light) separate from the LCD its self in an effort to slim the display housing. It is my assumption that most people that custom install these reuse the front bezel of display and just omit the buttons and fill in the holes as part of install. Whereas the buttons are technically still there, they just have no access to them any longer. Sorry about over explaining. Hope this helps.
