  • LCD Pin Converter

Hi. It seems you guys are the only forum discussing LCDS and pins and such.

I bought a replacement LCD for a friend's notebook. The company said it would fit and was the correct LCD. Well, when I get it, it certainly fits but the data connector doesn't fit. Come to find out the notebook takes 30 pin LCDs. What I bought is a 40 Pin LCD.

    No refunds or returns.

I can't even exchange it. These people really know how to take your money and not help you.

Is there a converter from 40 to 30? I've tried looking on websites like pchub.com but they don't have a converter with 40 pins. I'm pretty stuck and don't know what to do.

    EDIT: Here's the LCD I ordered. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=213724818

It's supposed to go into a Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM

You need to get the pinout and data sheets for the new and old LCD and if you're lucky, the signal type/levels are the same and you'll need to change the connector.
