  • Weird problem on Mini Touch 700

Hi, I've installed a Mini Touch 700 monitor in my car. I've used a 5 meters vga cable to carry the video signal and now I'm experiencing an annoying problem, the monitor blank out, showing "no signal" message, after around 20 minutes of use and the only way to have the picture back is to disconnect and then connect again the vga cable. There isn't a problem of loose connection, they're all tightened...please help me sort this out. Just as a note, in case it may be useful, I've been running it with win7.

    Thanks from Italy

      Thanks for the reply.
During the installation phase the screen run on the same 5 meters vga cable that I'm using now, but it was on for shorter period of time so I haven't identified the issue before.
I'm going to give a try to a better grounding of the case (the pc is in a plexiglas case so there is no grounding on the motherboard screw holes...tomorrow I'll create a sort of grounding path for these to see if it help (I've also noise connected to hard disk activity in the audio and in the picture)) and to connect a desktop monitor to the 5 meters cable that now drive the mini touch. If the monitor should run fine and for long period of time I can limit the problem to the mini touch.
Write any other suggestion or experience and many thanks.

I've had nothing but grief and heartache with this monitor. One problem I've had was a bad connection in the 8 pin mini din (inside the factory molded connector) on the harness that goes to the 15 pin VGA connector. I had to make another harness. (Real fun BTW) By doing this, the display stopped switching to AV2 "on the fly" and two other problems. Have a real good look at those 'cause the factory mini dins on these are poor.

Ok guys, I've solved the "no signal" problem installing a fan behind the monitor, with the air flow directed on the control board.
It seems that this monitor have the overheating problem of the older lilluput.
It give, however, another annoying problem. The touch panel seems to work not so good as it should; sometimes it simply stop to work and start to point(and click) to a constant position, like if there is something that press that specific point.
Other times it lose sensibility on the edge(the upper right is pretty annoying in windows use). These symptoms last for some minutes and then disappear.
The linearization is far from perfect anyway and it's impossible to point something in the border. It, generally doesn't satisfy me.
Are you experimenting the same issues? If you have advice or solution to these problem please post it here. Thanks.

I having the same issues as well. I even replaced the touch controller and still have the same problems. I even went as far as to loosen the LCD from the frame and still no joy. Touch functions comes and goes. Oddly 'nough, as soon as I suggested I wanted a replacement from MOCOSO, they severed all emails with me. Huh, go figure. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Same problem with mine. The touchscreen sometimes would not respond and the cursor would remain on the upper left corner as if it was being pressed there. After a number of emails, they RMA'ed it with another screen. Unfortunately, it still behaves the same and I have it epoxied to the bezel of my car.

I would appreciate it if anyone was able to fix this problem.

Both of you (kammeroo7 and bchiang) seem to have the same problem: defective touch screen.

Can I replace the touch screen or do you mean the whole display. Mine already has a changed out touch controller. BTW... no too much help from MOCOSO anymore.

What is the likelihood that it is because of the USB cable/connection? I notice the connection can be jiggled around a bit.

if you have already opened the case(voiding the warranty) then you can try to sand down the area where the screen mates to the bezel to get rid of the high spot that is causing the issues.

                              Hey guys,

I also have a MT700 touch monitor, with the same haptic touch issues. Randomly, the screen will start pressing the top right corner, and then cease to register any touch input. The only way to fix it is to trip my main power circuit breaker that powers my CarPC, audio amps, and HDRadio. Did you guys ever solve this issue? It's only getting worse and worse with my unit. I'm about to give up and get a resistive Lilliput.
