Led sounds like its better but the link above claims that its brighter then the led screen

there has been multiple revisions of that screen. there was first a ccfl backlit model, then a led backlit, and that link is the most recent revision of the 629, which they improved on..

led is better because that means you will not have as many issues with cold wheather.

He just said it's 3 years old, so I'm guessing no led. Oh well.

it should be the middle revision-- which was the early led version. i am actually using one in my car right now. not a bad screen--it works perfectly fine, it just doesn't compare to my transflective screen..

Lilli started changing over to LED in late 07.
I say it's a good bet you have LED.

I saw a thread comparing the screens between Lilliput models nd saw that the 629 and the 701 use the same screen. So I'm wondering what is the biggest difference that they made a whole new line of monitors

Originally, Lilliput started out with the 619 and 629 models. 619 was the cheaper of the 2. That was before LED back lights.
Then, they released the EBY701 (still CCFL) as a low cost alternative to the 6/9 units.

now, the difference is the bezel-- the 701 has buttons along the side, the 629 has the buttons on the bottom.
