  • Can I use this laptop display?

Going through some old parts in a closet and found a couple of A1181089A Sony Laptop displays. I think these where going to be used to replace a few damaged laptops at one time, but never got used so they are just sitting new in the box.

Could they be used as a secondary display for the center of a truck if I picked up some housing?

    Here are the specs:

Usually laptop displays connect to the motherboard via an LVDS connector. If you are planning to hook up this secondary display to a VGA, DVI or HDMI port, you'll run into problems. Unfortunately, hooking up an LVDS display is more trouble than it's worth. It might be more cost-effective to just buy a new LED monitor.

Ok thanks for the tips. I'll just toss it and pick up a regular old monitor.
