  • Epia M Resolutions

I installed my new epia m with the drivers that came on the CD and it gave me access to all video resolutions including all wide screen resolutions. I then updated the driver with those from VIA's website and all of the wide screen resolutions disappeared! They wern't even in the list all modes option. So I reinstalled the old drivers which are version:

    5.13.01.0012-01.10.01

Does anyone know what file contains the screen resolution settings? I was thinking about mixing the two driver versions but I'm not sure what files I need to mix.

Did you use the drivers from the Via website, or ViaArena? The ones on ViaArena are newer, and I use them with widescreen resolutions.

Car changed for TVR Griffith 500, so computer de-installed. Using a Dension 100ix w/60Gb HD unit in the interim.

Hey check that out. There are new drivers. On viavpsd, they only have the release drivers for everything. Seems the only thing that gets updated there are the bios's. Points for you .

Do the newer drivers on ViaArena contain any more options? Preferably I'm looking for an option that forces TV out even if there is no screen detected. I guess I'll have to go take a look at these drivers.

I tried to setup a driver from viaarena on my M10000 but monitor blacks out after restart, i have dowloaded BIOS update and 2kXP driver from viavpsd and it worked after BIOS update, but has no nonstandard resolutions. I did not try driver from viaarena, after BIOS update, maybe it will work?

Just goes to show, if it aint broke don't fix it. Taking newer drivers and bios updates is not always the best thing to do, especially if the ones you have are working perfectly fine and you're not having any problems with them.
