  • Auto Switching on my Lilliput is acting VERY funky.. Help Please..

    So I have a model of Lilliput that has the green wire for autoswitching. I hooked it up to my reverse wire and tested it successfully in my garage (with the the car on, but not started)..

    The next day I turn on my car, hit the brake, and the monitor flickers.. I put it in reverse and it correctly goes to VIDEO2 and I get my camera.. However, there are big red lines down the right side (something I've never seen on my LCD before)..

    I put it in drive and it does back to DVI, as it should.. Then red lines go away after a few seconds.. The first time I hit my brake it goes to VIDEO1 (I believe) for a second and then goes back to DVI (even though I still have the brake pushed in)..

    When I turn on the turn signal it does the same thing.. When I have the turn signal AND the brake pushed in it flickers from VIDEO2 / DVI very quickly.. WTF!?

    My test light shows the wire I'm tapped to is only 12V when the reverse light is on.. How is this happening?

    sounds like something is wired badly at the tail lights... (doesn't really explain why your going into video 1 though ) do you have a trailer hitch? sockets on these are notorious for causing issues when they get old,also check the silly snap connectors they use were they splice into the main harness...failing that check all the connector's in the boot area for the tail lights...also I found if I had the camera earth at the boot the quality of the video was worse than running without an earth..then again my camera was real cheap

      So I probed the wire at the monitor.. When I hit the brakes it goes to 00.9V and it's 00.2V at rest.. When I go to reverse it goes to 12V as it should... It's just that even at 00.9V when the brake is pressed or when a turn signal is on it makes the monitor go into a fritz..

      Is there any work around? A relay or anything?

        Add a relay in the trigger line for the green wire. If these monitors detect even a half volt they try to switch to that input. I had the same problem.
