  • Capacitive Touch Panel Help Please

    Hey folks,

I've done a large amount of reading on the forums, so I hope I don't get any "use the search" folks here (I'm a recognized dev on xda-developers.com where that is the way of life lol).

I built my CarPC back in 2009.

I have a bunch of new hardware on the way and now I'm wanting to do something special with the screen.

I have a couple main topics with questions which can help me find my way....

    1. Does anyone know of a supplier/vendor that can sell me a capacitive panel that will fit the 629 with a double din perfectly? If so, who and for how much? I've seen a lot of talk and it seems that display-touch's owner has sourced this, however I've not seen anyone mention where these can be found. tft_lcd, is there any way you could help me out here? I see you're listing out of stock on the 7 inch panels and monitors w/ cap touch, which saddens me as I'd be very tempted to even buy a new monitor(I wanna ditch VGA for HDMI as well) from you.

    2. Can anyone currently source the Lilliput 629 or 669 with the auto switch sensor and capacitive touch? It can even be open-case as I already have the double-din fascia and the generic mounting hardware......

I've been doing a large amount of work planning this next iteration of my CarPC....I just can't believe the most difficult part of this has been the TS.

I have found Capacitive screens in general quite challenging to find. I'd love to get my hand on an 8/9" widescreen panel.

As would I. A 9-10.1" would be perfect for my vehicle. LED backlit IPS at 1280x720 or higher would be nice. I think we're within a year away from getting something aftermarket using ips/cap tablet screens. Some offerings on eBay are CLOSE but not quite there.

After we get something decent, then we'll be wishing for OLED...

Not sure if you contacted me directly, but I will put a display together for you.

Currently, I only offer the Xenarc monitors w/capacitive option, but if you want a 669, let me know.

You can email me through my website.

The 669 Double DIN w/capacitive multi touch is back in stock. No drivers needed, Windows 7 and 8 is supported.

            tft_lcd_org,

You don't actually list the 669 in a double din housing w/ capacitive touch on your display-touch website.

I will e-mail you momentarily. I'd love to see the price. If it's in the double din case so I can mount it into the Metra kit, I'm most probably on it.

Are there any 8-9" touch screens out there?

You can get a 10.1" Capacitive touch panel, and I believe I saw a 10.1" 2560x1600 panel out there somewhere. It's basically what's in the Nexus 10.

                        Really?

                        Which one do you have?

NJY does not sell USB Capacitive panels unless you want to have a custom panel made. And, they want 3000pc minimum order for that.

Their capacitive panels are I2C interface. Without the HID descriptors from them (they don't have them) you can't even get those to work with an I2C enabled device.

But does win7/8 recognize them as a touch screen or as a mouse?

I was going to use Win8 on my CarPC until I found that my egalax driver is only seen as a mouse and not a touch screen so the swiping doesn't work.

I have a screen I bought that uses a 4 wire multi touch USB egalax driven touch.

Would you possibly have a replacement touch controller that would use a driver that is compatible with win8 gestures?

Can you send me more information on that display? or maybe some pictures of the touch connector, controller, etc?

                            Thanks

                              Mimo has a 10" capacitive.

I have a 669 capacitive from tft_lcd and its great. X and Y axis are inverted and you have to revert them every time it starts up... Kinda a pita
