  • Embest LCD8000-97C 9.7" LVDS Display

I've been searching/reading trying to find a touchscreen for my car.

    I have an opening that is 219mm (8 5/8") x 244mm (9 5/8") to put a monitor. Screen size has to be under 184mm (7 1/4") x 234mm (9 1/4").

Seems that the 9.7" LG/Ipad screen is about perfect. Duayn has one without a touchscreen and otherwise I cannot find something in that profile. Obviously with my opening a 4:3 monitor would be best and having a resolution of 1024x768 at least would be ideal since I plan to do this on Windows 8. Since it is Windows 8 some multitouch capability would be ideal. Mostly I'd like to be able to 3 finger swipe to alt+tab, 2 finger scroll and pinch.

There is a LVDS display module made by Embest that sure looks like the same panel.

I've seen HDMI-LVDS converters (like ) and more specifically one I "think" is for the above screen:

So all that being said, can I buy that screen and the Elecrealm converter and expect it will work?

If not, are there other screens that anyone can think of that I could use in the installation?

I did, but that panel doesn't include any touch interface. It is just a monitor. Duayn's site is what actually got me excited to do it with that screen.

I have looked at that 9.7" screen too, but unfortunately it has no touchscreen.

The size on this is somewhat screwed up, but I have an email into them to see if it will fit:

I thought a read on there that a touch kit was offered for that screen but I guess not. If it was listed, it's not there now.

There are some overlays on alibaba, but I have a hard time believing in them.

I'd love to make it work. The screen size is PERFECT for my truck.

*it would tuck easy in the slot, just hard to take a pic that way
