  • Best touchscreen LCD?

I have a 93 Honda Accord SE. (looks new, grandparents never drove it much). I want to mount an LCD panel on the dash on the top of the center console. I Can't mount it lower as I don't have the skills or desire to move controls. What are your reccomendations for a 7" touchscreen display? I need to have VGA input, I don't want to deal with the crappy conversion from VGA to composite or S-video.
Also, What would be the best way to mount the screen itself? Easily removable is a MUST (I live in the city.) I had been considering mounting it directly to the dash, but a goose neck seems to be a better idea.

The dscustoms wide 7" looks like it would suit my needs well. and If Glare became a problem I could get some polarizing film for I found while searching about.

    What do you think?

I'm happy with my 7in Xenarc 700TSV. I wish I had waited for the DSCustoms though as it would've saved me some cash.

The best way to mount it is in-dash imo. If you make it look stock enough, thieves may not even notice it. Plus it will save you the trouble of removing it every day. If thats not possible, get a new car : )

Glare will definitely be a problem, especially if you mount it on top of the console. The touchscreen used on those screens are super reflective. Try searching the forums for details on glare and anti-glare films.

    Good luck on your install.

      Try the tm-701

try digitalww.com and the TM-701L, especially since Armen is coming out with a motorized vga 7 inch one, which is what im waiting for. Good thing about the housing is a) it fits in one din, and b) you can pull out when needed and then hide when not needed so you dont attract attention.

Theres no way I can put it in a DIN. The DIN's are very low down and the shifter is in the way (I can't even insert a CD into my head unit when it's in park). Unless I want to reroute Air controls, I cannot put it anywhere visible inside the center console, and I don't have the skills or the time to do that sort of thing.

The standard mount that the Dscustoms 7"wide LCD comes with seems to allow for quick removal. Can this be confirmed?

I will check out digitalww.com when I get home

rerouting AC controls is not that hard if the controls fit the new location perfectly. rerouting the AC ducts and relocating the vents are the hard part.

I would be Rerouting vents, controls the defrost and hazard lights, and cutting out a larger hole in my center console. NOT fun. I aslo want to be able to put the thing back to stock if I ever want to sell the car
