since my tft is not working anymore i need to install a temporary replacement unit for the moment untill it is fixed, because no computer means no music in my car and i can't drive it around without any music!

since i don't want to spend alot of money on a tft for only some weeks (i am still optimistic about earthLCD's support) i took an old B/W CRT TV i had and want to temporary install it in my dash where my lcd was..

is it very heat critical (i have no ac) so i'd better just throw it in the car and leave it laying (and bouncing) around? or can i install it in the dash?

    greatful for any help

uuhm... forget it :-) .. the graphics card in my pc does not "see" the b/w TV and does not turn on the tv-out (although it works perfectly when i attach a vcr or any other tv-set to it) .. so i won't use this screen..

Why not just add the capacitor so you video card always allows TV output, wether you have a TV there or not? It is a good upgrade to do just in general.

75 Ohm resistor should do the trick

good input.. thank you.. didn't know there was such a hack.. but as of today i got my tft to work again (only half as bright but still better than a crt that does not really fit my dash) thanks for your help.

I think the Aston Martin Lagonda used a small CRT for some of it's functions, mainly reversing I think.
