I ordered mine last week-not got a tracking number yet grrr..altho i did make him check it for jurassic park and bugged up vga refresh before shipping but I spose itll stop me having to send it back if it was going to happen and hed save shipping too so it makes sense for both of us.
Tried it out on a laptop last night, no jurassic park or lady images, touch screen works, although not to the edges, may need to do some adjusting with the touchscreen software, also display flicked with touchscreen soft installed, maybe due to using a 12v 500ma adapter instaed of the on they supplied.
the one they supply has two flat pins and I didn't have an adapter handy.
I was just about to posy this link. Don't want to put Armin out of business as he sells these too, but they do look a fantastic deal for UK people who are a little short, if they work as well as they look.
Have you installed the drivers and the software from the CD?
yep 3 different drivers (digitalww latest ones off cd and dscustoms old ones) on 2 pcs-it detects and installs ok (apart from the latest drivers from dww that give an error shortly after searching com ports) and when i plug it in after a reset it finds it as usb device installs drivers fine-but wont respond to touch at all and calibration just times out.
Is there another procedure to install or is it just a crap screen. the image is mint btw all refreshes work fine and no dinosaurs.....
What are this unit like in the sun... Do they reflect badly ? Are the OK ? If they do does any one know where to get anti reflective film for and how much ? These and other questions will be answered in the next episode of..... Ooopps went of track there ... serious questions though .
right good news everyone. After asking him if I could check for loose wires as to why the touch wasnt responding he said that would be ok in this instance and my warranty still stands . I opened it up-saw the ribbon was trapped in the case -freed it up and replugged it in and guess what-touchscreen functions perfectly!!! Im very happy with the service and with the screen now and recommend this guy thoroughly-as most places would require it sent back even though most of us on here are more than capable of investigating simple faults like this.As to why they appear in the first place thats down to lilliput but from what I read there are very few screens with actual real faults that a small bit of prodding couldnt fix.
Re brightness mine is on 1% and is more than bright enough in the cloudy-ish weather we are having at the mo -this is a very bright screen and im sure provided its not in direct full on midday sun in egypt or somewhere itll be viewable. I spose if you mount it where you havent got a great angle to start with (or passenger side/glovebox) and its in direct light you may have to move slightly to read it but short of putting a film coated NF CRT in your car you arent gonna have 100% of viewing angles perfect. for me its 1 meeelion times better than I need anyway. -get one -you wont be disappointed.
