  • ALPINE Displays and Aux Input ??/

I have an Alpine CVA-1006 Head unit sure it plays mp3's and has a mp3 changer but I really want a car computer, before I yank it out and spend 300-500 bucks to have the local stereo shop custom fab my an In dash touch screen has anyone every hooked a computer to one of the many video/audio aux inputs and seen if this screen would work ??

My laptop doesn't have a rca video out put so I can't test it my self

I was going to run one of the larger Icon controls interfaces over winblows and use an RF remote for a mouse.

    anyone have input ?

I'm not familiar with the alpine but I am assuming it has touchscreen. Keep in mind that although your headunit may have a video input that you may be able to hook the laptop to, there is no return signal from the headunit back to the laptop.

Nope it doesn't have a touch screen but I can use a touch screen add on kit or use the rf remote like I had planned I was more looking at the display part if its going to be fuzz and unreadable I'll dump it, if its will work about as good as a xenarc or lillput I'll spend the extra money on a faster car computer with more dodads and toys.
