  • 10.4 Raw Screen??

What 10.4" raw screen would be good to mold into my dash? Also where is the best places to buy.

I am looking for a cheap, good quality, screen. I would like to be able to use composite input and VGA if possible. I plan to piece together a carputer a little at a time when I get some extra $$, but for now I want to start with a screen, and use it for PS2 until I can get the carputer.

    Thanks for any replies!

hey iv got an 10.4" 640x480 LCD screen, inverter, and the controller board ill let it go for $65 shiped, i pulled it from a datalux, there is a white line that runs down the very edge of the screen, other than that it works fine looks good and it's bright, unless you want to make your own calbes i have the datalux's vga and power cable's for $15 more.HP makes a DC power adappter that will hook up to the datalux's cable. if you want to use composite youll need to find some kind of vga to composite converter. a good quality 10.4" screen ran me over $600 from allamerica and the controller board sv-1600 and inverter where another $500 more off ebay used. but this would be good to get you started off

Go to http://www.lcdtft.com/ and check out their "Computer LCD monitors." There's a 10.4 on there. It's the one I'm ordering next week. It's pretty nice from what I can see.

I didn't realize how expensive those were. Why are the 10.4" flip down composite screens so cheap? I've seen them for like $250-350. Is there a raw composite screen that might be cheaper. I don't think I want to spend that much.

Thats sounds like a really good deal, sr ryan1...but I would prefer a brand new screen if possible.

              Thanks for the replies.
