  • Datalux Polarity

    Just got my 10.4" screen today. Didnt come with an AC adapter so I went to Radio Shack and got a 12V 1A power supply with the appropriate end connector.

    Im not sure what the polarity is. Is the center pin + or -

    I dont want to hook this up until I know for sure

    Thanks

    Datalux Power Question...

    I have a few questions and need help!.?.!.

    1. I also just got my Datalux 10.4" LMV10R and it did not come with an AC adapter so i was wondering which one you bought from radio shack or which one i need to buy? Is this one right?...

    http://www.radioshack.com/searchsku.asp?find=273-1776

    Its a 12V/1000mA Power adapter

    2. Also, If this is the correct power adapter then which end connector do i need? Again i have the LMV10R and I looked at the adapter jack on the back of the vga connector and its an unusual shape, its round but split down the middle so kinda like two small half circle prongs. Here is a link to the manual which gives some brief info about the power adapter and a pic...

    3. Finally im not sure what you mean by the polarity. Is that just a switch on the power adapter itself? If so which setting did u determine it needs to be at + or -?

    I am just asking all these questions cause i dont want to hook anything up and mess my screen up until im confident its right.

    Thanks

      74Camaro,

      that is the correct power adapter - 12V/1A. I used the "N" Connector. I only used this for in-home testing purposes, its in the car now hooked up to my Power supply that runs the carputer.

      Not sure what you mean in #2, are you sure the two halves on the plug have not become separated? It should be a circular shape hole with the pin in the center. The "N" fitting from Radio Shack should fit snugly in the hole without falling out on its own.

      The center pin on that monitor is +, so on the power supply it says which way the plug has to be put on for this type of config:

      neg ---->( o ----- pos
