  • DWW-7VGA or In-Dash Lilliput?

I've been waiting for my DWW-7VGA now for 20+ days. I've been told it will ship on Thursday (two days from now). But now someone brought up the point with me about the 250 nits and it got me thinking.

I checked out eBay and it looks like I can get the Lilliput 7" VGA with touch kit for under $350 (shipping included). I can convert the Lilliput to in-dash for $100. It's not a super-simple task, but it's one I'm capable of.

So, that means that I can have a 400 nit 1-DIN display for almost $150 cheaper then I can have the DWW-7VGA. Is there any reason that I would NOT want to do this?

I contacted Armen and asked him the same question, but he hasn't replied. I'm concerned that he may not reply until after the DWW-7VGA has already shipped, and I don't want the hassle of that. So unless anyone can tell me why I wouldn't want to go this route instead, I really need to do my absolute best to get ahold of him before the end of business Thurdsay.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

i ran into the same problem, but when i ran into this problem no one ad the directions to do the swap, at this point i would highly recommend since, it is best of both worlds, you have 400 nits and also in dash. the only thing to worry about is if you are not good at soldering and don't have a lot of patience you might screw up the lilliput, Also if you could try to mold the lcd into the das, if you have a double din

Correct me if I am wrong, but does not soldering a lilliput voids its warranty?

I am no expert on Lilliputs warranty but if you open the case on any of the electronics I have ever bought then that voided the warranty as did service by people that aren't licensed to do work on their products no matter how good they are at it.

I'm pretty sure it would void my warranty. And that's a fair point. The DWW-7VGA does cost $100 more, but it does have a 1-year warranty. I'm not that concerned about my soldering skills mucking it up. But it would be nice to have the general 'wear and tear' covered over the next year since it is quite a bit of an investment...

At any rate, it's a point worth considering. Still no response from DigitalWW yet...

Ask Armen to do the indash but with a Liliput, he has already done indash Dww-7vga using the liliput screen and its cheaper...

DigitalWW did reply and as PORTUGAL stated, DigitalWW will do the Lilliput modules in the same housing. And it is in fact cheaper as PORTUGAL also said.

I asked Armen and he told me that I can go ahead and tell you all the exact cost. He plans to offer Lilliput VGA + USB Touch + In-Dash + Labor + Shipping (continental US I assume) for $450. Thats considerably cheaper then the original dispaly and nearly twice as bright.

Now please don't turn this into another Lilliput vs Xenarc thread again . I just wanted to let everyone know it's an option.

As my order is now complete and it should ship today, I would like to bring closure to my DigitalWW experience. The lack of replies to my e-mails and voicemails was furiating at times, and I think that should serve as a warning. But in the end Armen did work with me to provide an alternative that matched my needs. So my experience consisted of an extreem negative and an extreem positive. In the end, I feel they balanced out. I think he has the potential to turn the tables in his favor. I wish him luck.
