  • Use of LCD/VFD as reflection display in windscreen?

    Has anybody made this?
I would love to do that, i think it would be cool to see system/music/obd2/(MediaCar, MediaEngine)-data in my car windscreen but dont know how to do this...

Data needs to be written filpped to lcd/vfd because its reflected to windscreen...

    Somebody like the idea?

I know theres a lot of programs that can provide useful information and winamp information but what program does it upsidedown ?

    Help needed!

If i could made custom fonts already flipped upside down to some lcd/vfd, that could be the easiest answer to my problem, then i could use existing programs like lcdsmartie etc.

Where can i get good lcd/vfd display that allow to change fonts and display custom characters?

And good software to display info, wich is higly customizable?

      Hi Jannez,
I am presently working on that to display the Next Turn from VOICES app . I am using a graphic VFD KGU126x64D-K612A4-CB from http://www.noritake-itron.com. I have made a small app to display signs. I have yet to test it in the car. What I have done is basically stored mirror images char and graphics I like to display in a file. The app just read the file, calculates the offset and diplays on the VFD.

      Regards
      Satish

        That sounds good.
Are you going to support other displays?

I tried using a vfd in my car, and during daylight the display was nearly completely washed out, and at night it was blinding, so you'll need to find an uberbrite vfd. You'll also need to get a special HUD film to put on the window, otherwise your'll get ghosting as the light bounces of both surfaces of the glass. Just things to keep in mind.
