Here are 2 pics. The original idea was to use a mount made for the Ford Fusion which replaces the left hand vent but the vent on the Fiesta is not accessable from under the dash like the Fusion. Sorry about the quality.

That looks like a double-din slot to me, so it should be a perfect place to mount a lilliput!

Car changed for TVR Griffith 500, so computer de-installed. Using a Dension 100ix w/60Gb HD unit in the interim.

If you dont want to change the dash , maybe you could use this :

http://www.cartft.com/shop/catalog/gl/28

I dindnt find Ford fiesta but you could ask Oliver ( car tft ) if there is a specific unit for your car.
Here in Portugal we have great weather, lots of brunnets, party a lot, drink a lot....

Thanks for the help but I already bought a mount off Olivier for a Ford Fusion thinking it would be much the same but I can't use it. He put me in touch with the manufacturers but they never got back to me after several attempts

If you have to have a head unit (seems a bit silly when you could make it look really good in te double din) then you'll need in dash housing. checkout digitalww.com's.

Why not find another home for your head-unit? For example, in my install, the headunit's in my armrest. Not sure what the inside of new Fezzy's is like, but there should be somewhere. Glovebox? Under dash?

Actually it looks like a 1.5 DIN, I don't think there is room for an in dash housing. Try RAM mounts:
