  • Lilliput Mounting Options

For those who have a lilliput, I have a rodeo so there is really no good way to put this in-dash. I just ordered my lilli from mp3car.com. I have my carputer all done in car. This was the last item. Anyways,

what are some good mounting ideas that do not require alot of drilling to the car since I am going to sell it this year. I would like to enjoy my pc until then. Can someone post ideas and pics on what they have done to mount the lilliput? I am trying to figure out how to mount abracket of some sort on an extra din space I have. Any ideas and pics would highly be appreciated. I saw a ton out there but not sure how they were mounted.

    Thank you

    Lucho

if you have an unused din slot why not use a fold out display? Just a thought.

The rodeo is the SUV right? I copied an SUV's overhead console but built it from wood and covered with about $5 of headliner material, when I ever get around to it my display will fold down from the overhead.

            Greetings lucho

I have recently finished installation of my 6" Lilliput and was also struggling for a place to mount it. Sorry dont have any pics but can explain it for you...

Underneath my head unit there is a din size gap in the dash - the luxury models of the Ford Falcon have a double-din fascia, my pov-pack model has a small "coin slot" in its place (although everytime I ever put coinage there it ended up on my back seat.... different story).

I've basically taken the lilliput mount and bent one of the sides of the base back 90 degrees. This screws into the "roof" inside the coin slot. When you bolt the screen up to the mount, it sits about 1 inch away from the dash, just in front of the head unit. When need access to head unit, the screen folds down (on the hinge of the lilliput stand). Can also move/rotate the screen to a desired angle.

This will make more sense to you when the screen arrives and you can inspect the mount which is provided.

Thanks, I got my lcd today. Was quick, I ordered it yesterday, arrived this morning from mp3car.com. Mounted it like you said, somewhat like you said, I actually bent both sides and tucked it in a din. Fits perfect. Does not even move. Did not bolt it so I can put it in the house or at work, since it gets really hot out during the day.

Thanks again for your idea futura

My lilliput sits on top of the dash atm. Probably the best spot in the car for a lot of sun light. It gets pretty hot, but never had any trouble.
