  • xenarc eden lvds connection

There is a LVDS support option for some eden boards. From the pics of the internals of the xenarc it appears that its using an LVDS controller.
I think that means the LCD panel inside the Xenarc can be directly run from the eden.

Does anybody out there know anything about LVDS?

I know a few things about it - I'm going forward with a plan to put an 8.4" LVDS LCD in my WRX, and I have a good knowledge of electronics and I've done my research.

I think your biggest problem won't be whether the Xenarc is LVDS or not, it will be whether the motherboard's BIOS supports the Xenarc's native resolution.

If the Xenarc is one of the wide ones, the native resolution is 800x480 - this is a "non-standard" resolution, and most MB bioses don't have that resolution as an option.

If, however, it's an 4:3 aspect LCD, and the resolution is 640x480 or 800x600, you may be in luck, if the LCD is in fact LVDS.

You will need a system with a BIOS that has the right LCD type listed, otherwise it won't have the right video timing parameters, and the LCD won't work.

Also, you cannot tell whether a LCD is LVDS by the connectors, but you can tell if you have the panel's pinouts, and/or the LCD model number.
