  • Moving Lilliput Infrared Reciever...

Is there anyway to wire the Lilliput 7" TS to extend the infrared reciever? Just don't know if I can use standard wire/solder or not. Thanks.

I know there's a post around here somewhere by Altimat (IIRC) about relocating the buttons, probably IR receiver as well? I'm sure the is your friend...

Did do a search... found that thread, but wasn't exactly what I needed...

Yes, unsolder the IR receiver from the button board (3 pins) and then use small-gauge wire to extend the sensor to where ever you want it to be.

Do I need a special soldering iron to get a solder that small?

The IR reciever isn't that small. A standard cheapo soldering iron from Radioshack should work just fine. I extended mine with an extra CDROM/Audio cable.

I asked this in another thread, but this was more along the lines of what I was looking for.....the plastic in front of the IR eye, is that special plastic? Or should I just put the IR eye behind one of the vents in my car?
