  • Flexvision screen broken

    well i bought this screen from a friend very low price said it wasnt working thought i would try to fix it.



    so i open it up to see what is wrong and this is what i find.




    the ribbon cable is fried. wondering if you guys know where to get a new one

    hard wire it to the connectors might work

        looking at the ribbon, it looks like its melted meaning its pulled too much current and got very hot. There may be dammaged compenents. what xdjxklusivex ment was to purchace some very fine wire and go from each pin on the connector on the and solder it to the matching connector on the driver board.

              it is 22. is there a way to get ride of the 18 wires i dont need or does anyone know where i could get a 22 ribbon cable?

                It is an FFC cable which is normally hard to find in 40 wire but you should be able to find in smaller. (don't ask me where, you will have to look).

                You can always trim 18 wires off a 40 wire one. Just be careful. You also have to get the right pitch. I think the digitalww ones for the xenarc and lilliput are 0.5mm pitch.

                But to be honest i think the controller is FUBAR looking at all the charing.

                      I bet the original flat ribbon cable smells like ten spirits. Its obvious the ribon cable was a bit hot for a while some time ago. And I bet the by swapping the cable you will not eliminate the root cause causing the ribbot to be set on fire.

                              i come from other forums were you always see people posting about small and easy things and you just have to say stuff obnoxious and it sucks when you move into new different forums and your still learning.
