  • Anyone know how to manually remove touchscreen drivers?

I've been having probs with my touchscreen (again). I'd like to uninstall the touchkit software along with the drivers but goin thru add/remove programs doesnt work. It says the software is removed but stays in the list as well as in the desktop. How do i manually remove this crap so i can get my drivers workin again? I tried having the touchscreen plugged into usb and having no usb devices plugged in at all with the same result.

      Removing drivers

If you are using windows-XP it insists on enabling system file protection, so even when you delete the sys file associated with the driver and you reboot it will over write it.

You can determine the sys file by right clicking on My Computer and going to manage with your touch screen plugged in, find it in the Device Manager, right click go to Properties, click the Driver detail tab and click Driver details, this will tell you the sys files associated with the device. Then disable system file protection, google on this and it will tell you how to do it, then from the c:\windows\system32\drivers directory get rid of the sys files associate with the touch screen. Unplug the touch screen before removing the drivers. If you want it to re-recognize the device when you plug it in, you will also need to get rid of the associated inf file from c:\windows\inf directory, or just click un-install in control panel and it should remove the inf.

First try using Uninstall from control panel will be easier... or update driver from control panel.
