  • RCA ir Svideo input

I am just learning about building a car pc and was wondering if a simple rca or svideo in will work instead of a typical vga for video in. All I will be using the monitor for is to run a media app for mp3's so the resolution doesnt need to be super high. I was looking into the following screen.

    http://www.pyleaudio.com/itemdetail....&model=PLVS420

    Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations?

    don't go pyle
    not very high quality

and yes, svidoeo or rca will work
but if you plan to use any type of test viewing, go with vga

i went vga and i have to say i'm glad that i did. once you go vga, you'll want nothing less

I have chosen this LCD for my initial project.

I paid less than $80CAD with shipping. If it doesnt work I will go with something better (VGA input). Does this seem like a decent LCD for the price (or at least a better option than the pyle)? I wont be doing GPS at all.

It will be a better, but not much better, screen.

Trust me, if you're starting from scratch with the intent to build a carputer, get a vga screen. I have a 2300 dollar alpine unit (purchased before I planned on carputing), gorgeous screen on it, but it looks pretty bad with any text on it whatsoever. Now I'm looking for options to add a VGA monitor.
