  • Where to put an LCD?

    Hi all,
I have a 94 BMW 318is, I have bought an LCD from Timeline (Don't start), I don't know where to put it. I wanted to put it under the a/c but the dash-hole isn't big enough. if anyone has done this, or knows what the inside looks like, please help.

can you give us any pictures of the inside of your car? that would greatly help since very few people will have that type of car.

The area under the air conditioning controlls looks perfect to me. You could fit a 12 inch lcd down there. Your screen might not fit in the hole for those 2 pockets and clock but it dosent look all that difficult to modify. You might try cutting the hole out to perfectly match the screen size and position the Lcd behind that panel. Whenever i modify my car though, i use a part from the junkyard and keep the original.

i want to mount a 40*4 LCD panel but i dont have where. if it was a full lcd that wouldn't be a problem.
I am also thinking of selling my car soon so i don't want to make any holes or what not.

if you just wanted a character based LCD the little hold above the bigger one in the compartment below the air conditioning controls looks about the right size, you should be able to put something in there no problem. failing that, the area below it is bigger and should fit about anything that you'd want.

I don't think the entire area could fit a 12" screen however...

I'm just going to have a 10.4" screen mounted on an arm at steering wheel level.

I bought two, and with shipping it came out to $100 (US). That was when i was in the US.
