  • PLEASE HELP..audio/video wiring

O.k...here's the deal..I have absolutely no idea about wiring, fuses, connections, which color butt connectors, etc. My entire carputer and audio/video system was done by a friend of mine, and I need to completely gut my truck and re-wire EVERYTHING. It turns out that his work was extremely sloppy, and now I have thousands or wires everywhere (some work, some don't, and some live and not even taped up). The live wires are sparking everywhere under my seats, and he never even grounded my secondary battery under the back seat. I left my truck with him for a long weekend when I went away (3 1/2 days) and I told him not to drive it, and gut and rewire everything. When I got back at 10:30 p.m. on a sunday night, only my rear seats and my 3rd row seats were out, but NOTHING at all was done. So...I'm tired of this ***** now, and realize that nobody will do anything better than yourself (not really true though if you don't know anything like me)...So I Need to learn basic wiring very quickly before my truck goes up in flames. I would have a professional shop do it, but they are each looking for around $1000 to re-wire everything. Don't forget I have like 7 monitors, train horn, subs, amps, computer, etc..Can someone suggest a site to me that explains everything in full detail that I need to know (what to connect to what, what the difference is between the different color butt connectors, how to splice rca's, EVERYTHING! Also, a book suggestion would help as well! Please respond, because I hope to be a installation specialist by tomorrow morning!! Thanx!
