  • Looking for an LCD...

I am relatively new to this whole MP3 in your car thing, so please bare with me. But at first when i was doing my research, I thought of just using an IR to control everything with no screen. It seems like it would work, plus a simple digital screen would be hard to program with, right?

Where and for how much can i get a cheap, digital display LCD?? Do i really need one???

Text Only LCD's start at about $10 for the parallel variety. You can get the Matrix Orbital and CystalFontz Serial LCD's for ~$50 and up. I think they are worth the money, but I'm sure I'm looking for a flaming here.

How would you go about programming your computer to just read texts of your playlist on your Text LCD???

There are Winamp plugins for this.
          MXPF supports them in DOS,
          I think Cobra supports them
          CAJUN (Linux) supports them

          etc etc etc.
