  • Prices for small lcd panels?

I'm hoping people here can give me a rough idea of how much an lcd panel will cost. I would like a 4 inch tft backlit (are tft panels always backlit?) panel that hooks to my computer. How much do you think this would cost for the entire display (including signal converters, power supplies, etc.)? Thanks...

$200-$400, depending on where you go and the quality.

the smaller LCD's are much cheaper because they are NTSC and not VGA. as far as TFT I'm not even real sure that NTSC LCD's even come in TFT.

    you can get screens from
    Ebay, Parts Express, and Directron.

You may want to utilize the search feature on this board to find out more information

The 4" ones are less than that. I think partsexpress has one for $99

Ok. Am I right in thinking that an NTSC display will work fine if I have a tv-out video card? What else would I need to get (power supplies?, inverters?, anything else?)

        Thanks for the help...

Sorry about the prices, I havent checked them in over a year (since I got mine)

As far as everything you need for an NTSC screen:

all you need is the screen and a card with TV-OUT. The inverter should be built in and most of those screens run on 12V, which means you can either hook it up to your computer's power supply or run it from your car's electrical system. If it runs on something other than 12V, get a converter from Wal*Mart or Radio Shack

You dont list your location, so I cant assume your here in the States. NTSC is the format here, PAL is the format in Europe and some other countries. Get the type of screen that your country supports. It will make it easier on you. Make sure that your screen and video card are the same format (NTSC or PAL), otherwise they wont work together
