Did you guys figure out what the native resolution was? For the same model on various sites I have seen 640x480 800x600 and even one site that claimed 1024x768 "dots"
According to www.lilliput.cn, the 809 and 829 8" displays have a physical res. of 640x480. They'll support 1024x768 and 800x600, but the physical screen of the LCD panel is only 640x480. A lot of the ads will list the res. as something higher (they're usually listing the max. res.) but the display will look the best when the image is set to the physical. res. of hte screen.

I have the 8" lilliput from the MP3Car store in my car and it is most definitely 640x480. It is fully usable at 800x600 -- small text is a little blurry, but you'll never notice if you are using large fonts or playing movies. I'm rather fussy when it comes to LCD pixel quality, so it does bother me, but I seem to be the exception rather than the norm. I run Windows at 800x600 because XP doesn't play well with 640x480, but under Linux I'm 640x480 all the time.
