  • Fitting touch screen into double din stereo slot

Hi there, I have a UK mk6 Escort that has a double din stereo as standard. Is there a touch screen that will fit straight into a double din slot?

I have looked at the subaru screen on this sites store and that seems too big, is it a true double din fitment?

If there is no screen that will fit straight in can any of you suggest how to get a screen in my dash?

The measurements of my standard stereo are, 7.6" x 4" on the face and 7.1" x 3.9" on the main body and as far as i know this is standard double din size.

I know this must be a very common question but i have searched your forum and was unable to find answers.

Thankyou in advance for any help and advice.

Break out the fiberglass, bondo and sandpaper.
      There is no such unit.

You must not have performed a search with any depth. If you had, you'd know that there's no product for what you want.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I performed an indepth search, I found there "was" no such unit from "old" posts. There could have been one released. Also someone might have a good way of fitting a certain screen into a double din...

Also i thought it would be worth asking first.

I'd like to hear about some way to do this too. The 7" LCD screens that are so popular here are built around LCD modules that are a few mm too tall to fit into a double-DIN opening, and that's the bare module. Nobody seems to talk about monitors that use smaller modules, or am I missing something?
