  • Video Signal Via USB

I don't believe to be the only one wishing for something like this. I know that there are USB controllers that can send Signals to Character&Grafix LCD. What is stopping us to send an AV signal through the USB port? Shouldn't the speed be more then enough? Any Input Welcome.

I dont know whats stopping you, but its bandwith and "kinda high" CPU utilization limitations for the others.

well I think there are some forms of all in wonders that will do av in... maybe out, but video in its raw form pulls ALOT of bandwidth... thats why our edit machines at work are dual xeon 2.4 rigs to handle the dvi throughput. If you wanted lower quality like composite video thats slightly different, the vga I would expect pulls too much for usb 1.1 and maybe pushing it for 2.0.

thats actually not as terrible as I had imagined. It would work ok for a car pc... not very good for a home system... unless you like low resolution and bit depth.
