  • GM Truck Double-DIn Install ideas..

    Have any of you installed a TC into the dash of General Motors Double DIN
    dash? Here is what I have to work with. If you have done this already, I'd love to hear how you did it, or wished you had done it!

    nah, dont use just the double din, move the hvac controls and get like a 10-12" widescreen LCD in portrait mode and fit it in there

          Here is what I did. I put a 8" screen in my console instead of removing the radio.

          512mb memory
          40gig 3.5" HDD
          Slim Line DVD/CDRW
          80w DC-DC Monex psu (fried 2, working on #3)
          8" Datalux TS LCD
          Sound Blaster USB

            I'm getting ready to do what Nomad did in a '05 Tahoe. That position works well for me because the wife doesn't want to get a new head unit. But if your wanting to actually watch something and drive, which I wouldn't recommend , then you might want the TS in place of the stock HU.

              Here are a couple pics of an install on an 05 gmc. Using the bracket system that i have developed you can have the monitor in an easy to view area and keep all the factory electronics.
