  • Cheap 16 (or better) bit 8.4" Touch Screen?

I'm considering getting the DennisK setup if this goes nowhere. But, does anyone know where I can get a complete/semi-complete 8.4" 16 bit touch kit? The cheaper the better.
Manufactor, Prices, and where to get them would all be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot
    Tres

I'm with you bud. Let me know if you find any information on this topic. I'm not too crazy about the 12bit DennisK color. Don't want to blow my wad on something I won't be happy with.
I've got a new car, but this one doesn't have a carputer. Definately a situation to be rectified. Sell me a DWW-700M!

My thoughts exactly, it's a great deal but if I can find something with a little more color I'd rather to do that. =D

This one is better (350 nits), has field-replaceable backlights (50K hours) and is cheaper
I don't need no stinkin' startup-shutdown controller... That's what journalized filesystems are for...

Also, mp3z24, if you find the screen you're looking for I'll buy your DennisK setup off you if you want to sell it cause I don't think I'm going to be able to find an 18bit 8.4" for the money I'm willing to spend =\

Sorry, I was considering this 5xx USD kit cheap enough (compared to how much the replacement LCDs are for from laptop manufacturers...)

Oh np, thanks for the info though. I'm just on a really tight budget because I'm buying a car a the same time as this computer deal. I didn't think I could get one for the money I want to spend (200-300) but it was worth a shot.
                  Thanks a lot
