  • Out of range

    Hi,

I have finally got everything connected together..

    VIA EPIA M10000
    ATX 90W....

When i try to turn it on my monitor displays only "Out of Range". I have tried to switch to an oter monitor but no luck.

I have not been able to install anything yet because of this.

I think i need to take a break from this computer **** and start drinking for the night...

    Display settings.

Not sure how you are going to fix that is you can't find a monitor that will display.

Are you just trying LCD's or a standard monitor?

    Cheers

out of range means you have your computer set to a resolution your monitor can't support. Hook it to another monitor, lower the resolution and refresh rate, then connect back to your monitor.

^ Yeah, that. You need to change the refresh rate or resolution.

Search the MS Knowledgebase for "Signal Out Of Range"

If you installed the OS using that monitor, then it should be default at 640x480 with low colour resolution. You have to change it to make it any different and as far as I know, all xenarcs/lilliputs support 640x480 and up to 1024x768.

What resolution are you trying to run at. Have you changed it?

So no matter what monitor, it displays out of range? Even on a large CRT monitor?

Have you ever had a picture?
Have you messed with the display settings before?
Have you cleared the BIOS's video settings?
Are you sure you are outputting on the correct line?

If you put in a XP install disk does nothing show up, or have you just not tried?
