  • another n00b - 2004 nissan frontier install

Well after being a member for some time i finally broke my post cherry and also i'm taking my first steps in building my carputer. Lets see where to start,

    Hardware:
    10.4" Sony Vaio Laptop I believe its a 1.4ghz pentium M with a 40gb hd, wifi, dvd-rom.

I purchased on ebay last night for $190 the EBY-701 Lilliput/Ex-audio 7" screen

    Freedom Mini wireless keyboard

Aux input adaptor for JVC HU

    Software:

    Windows XP

Right now i'm playing around with RoadRunner from what i've seen its bar far the best not only because its open source but because its fully customizable.

    Wants:

I want to add-on Nightvision for front & rear.
possibilly 300gb external HD for music, videos, etc.

Anything else anyone can think of that i'm missing???

BTW this is all being installed into a 2004 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4x4

Vaio laptops are awesome, how do you plan on starting the laptop up when in the car?

What about mobile phone control software, xm radio, steering wheel controls etc?
