  • desktop pc as carputer?

i have an old dell dimension 2350,and was wondering if i could use the m/b as a carputer?i believe it runs on a 250w power supply,so does that mean i would need a dc-dc inverter that ran that high?please show me what good inverters would be compatible.thanks

This board appears to be a Micro ATX size board, and uses a standard ATX 20-pin connector + 4pin 12V.

    I wouldn't suggest a DC-AC inverter, though.

A DC-DC power supply would be best, such as the DSATX 220W.

So yes, you could use this board.. either re-use the existing case, or find a Micro ATX case.

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
        How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

          What year is the Jetta?

          Which factory radio?

For what it is worth my 02 Jetta came with a Monsoon Double Din which I removed and replaced with an Alpine unit that provides an AUX input. This single Din Alpine resides in the empty space that was the ashtray.

My homemade touchscreen mount sits in the Double Din hole left my the monsoon and the pc is in the trunk. Most of the wires were run under the thresholds on the drivers side and yes I use an inverter ( in this car ).
