  • 19v laptop power supply

The laptop I want to put into my car runs off a 19v power supply so a cigarette inverter/adapter seems the easiest option but I keep hearing that a DC-DC is better so I'm wondering if its possible to get a DC-DC that will do that or would it be possible to under power it and run it off a standard 12v DC-DC... or any better recommendations... or do I just stick with a a cigarette adapter? Thanks

Thanks, The Carnetix p2140's say they can output 12, 18.5 or 20v but to output 18.5v wouldn't it require an equal or greater input?

no, the voltage will get stepped up, even an input voltage of 9v will still output the 18.5v
