  • Carputer in Pontiac G6

Can someone help me with the best component to put into a car PC. I want it to have wifi, bluetooth, navigation, all the goodies. What are the best mainboards, psu, ect. to have in the PC. I have a 2006 pontiac G6.

As others will tell you, there is no "best". It's a matter of what you want, space requirements, and what your willing to pay. You'll have to figure that out on your own and search for each component. Check the show off your project section for inspiration.
I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet .

      Another G6 owner... cool!

I am quite certain that you will read that there is no "best" of anything, only what fits your situation. But I can tell you that I have the same car and I have had a lot of complements on my screen install. I used the lilliput EBY-701. It fits almost perfectly without any mods to the housing I just turned the little metal bracket on the back around and mounted it to a "custom" bracket and put the factory dash back in place. (by custom I mean a few pieces of scrap wood I had in my shop held together with duct tape and a few zip ties) Custom just sounds better than "scrap wood" )
As for the rest of the stuff it's all up to how much work you want to put in to it. My first version was an old desktop case on its side screwed to the floor of the trunk running off an inverter... ugly as hell but it worked cause nobody sees my trunk anyway. Now i have a false floor in the works with all the wires neatly tucked away in case anybody wants to see the "guts"... now if I could just get a freaking power supply that worked. Been riding with no tunes for a few weeks now. oh well.

If you have any questions that I can answer just let me know and I'll see if I can help.
