  • New setup, need advice on some things

    Hey all,

So i'm completly new to the hobby, hence posting in this thread, and wanted to get some feedback and advice on a few things.
Here is my current (desired) setup for my car:

Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8ghz
GPS device - still not sure yet
Routebuddy software - does anyone have a better one or input on this?
Prosonus firebox with 6-preouts (4 going to my 4 channel amp and the other 2 going to my subwoofer amp)
Carnetix P1900 power supply with MacPac cable
    Xenarc 700TSV 7" lcd screen
and a screen adapter for me E46 from

I'm still not sure how volume control works with these, so if someone could help or has input that would be awesome, also I'm still help up on the music control. I'd use iTunes but not so sure how it will look with the whole small screen.
Ok any input or advice on items i might be missing PLEASE let me know, I'd love to get started on this

iTunes probably is too small for the 7" touchscreen. Try to find something that's meant for an automotive application, I don't know of any Mac software for this purpose but I'm sure it's not hard to find.

As far as the volume changing, you'd do it like you'd normally do it on the computer. As a guide you can set the volume on the computer to the half-way point, then adjust the amps gain till it's a good level. Then you've got some headroom if you want to make the music louder by just adjusting it on the computer.
